Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament


R U L E S

1. The tournament will start at the designated time with a sign-in requirement to receive chips, preferably 1 hour before play begins. If a player does not sign-in prior to the start of the tournament, they will not be allowed to play.
2. Please dine prior to play beginning. Food will not be allowed at the tables. You may bring drinks to the table.
3. All Players MUST be 18 years of age. No exceptions.
4. Player seating will be assigned prior to beginning of play. You may not trade places once you have been assigned.
5. Each player will start with $5,000. in play chips.
Each Player will receive the following chips: Ten - $100.00 dollar chips, Four - $500.00 dollar chips, and Two - $1000.00 dollar chips. Total of $5,000.00 in play chips.
6. Once tournament play begins, no seat changes will be permitted, unless instructed by Pit Boss.
7. Players will deal themselves. First hand will be determined by drawing high card. (Championship table will have one provided dealer)
8. Dealer will rotate clockwise around the table. The player to the dealer’s immediate left will be the small blind and the person to that player’s left will be the big blind. Please reference dealer button.
9. Players will be dealt 2 down cards, followed by a round of betting.
10. Players will be held to any and all verbal indications to call, bet, raise, or fold.
11. Minimum bet is equal to the big blind in all rounds of betting.
12. There will be a maximum of 3 raises per betting around.
13. Before dealing “the flop”, “the turn” & “the river”, the dealer will “burn” a card. This means simply placing the next card on the stack in a discard pile making the next card (s) that used for play in that hand.
14. After all players have either folded or matched the highest bet/raise, the dealer will deal the flop, 3 cards placed face up.
15. After the flop, another round of betting will commence. In this round and all future rounds of betting, players are allowed to check. Tapping on the table indicates a player has “checked” his/her hand. The minimum bet will be equal to the Big Blind. Players may raise an amount equal to the big blind up to – all of their chips (ON NO LIMIT ONLY.)
16. After the second round of betting, the dealer will turn over the “turn” or “4th street”, this will be followed by another round of betting. Then the “river card” or “5th street”, followed by the last round of betting. The best 5 card poker hand will win the hand. (See chart of cards/hands attached). If there is a tie, the pot will be split.
17. If a player does not have enough chips to match the other players during a hand they would bet what they have – otherwise known as “all in.” Then a side pot will be formed for the other players still in the game. Additional chips bet during the hand will be awarded to the player with the best 5 card poker hand that contributed to the additional pot.
18. Blinds will be raised according to the following attached schedule:
See Table Attached…… The first four rounds (see Time Table) is “structured betting”. You bet only the designated amount. This will ensure the greatest participation for the players.
19. The last remaining eight players will proceed to the “Championship Table”. The “Championship Table” will be dealt by a provided dealer.
20. Players are responsible for protecting their hands.
21. Tournament chips must stay on the table at all times.
22. Talking on the phone at the table will not be permitted.
23. Players are not allowed to touch any other players’ cards, chips, or discards.
24. Cards speak – the dealer will declare what a player has in his/her hand on the showdown.
25. “Rabbit hunting”, or asking to see extra cards, will not be permitted.
26. Abusive language will not be tolerated.
27. Absolutely no cheating or rude, obnoxious behavior allowed. The Pit Boss will have the right to disqualify anyone from the tournament that was found to be cheating or acting in a manner that is unacceptable to other players.
28. The Pit Boss’s decision will be final on all disputes.
29. A hand will be called dead if it is shown, talked about, come in contact with another player’s cards or mucked cards, or if it is not visible while a hand is in progress.
30. No string bets are allowed. All bets and raises must be made in one motion or announced.
31. During game play, players are prohibited from talking about their and/or any other player’s hand or method of play until action for that hand is over.
32. Players will be moved from table to table by the Pit Boss in order to keep the quantity of players approximately equal at all tables. These moves will be made so that your betting position relative to the blinds will not be affected.
